TU FUI EGO ERIS
Week of 2/1/16 - 2/5/162/8/2016 This week, we began our creative writing unit. On Tuesday/Wednesday, students shared out their newspaper projects and poems from the past two weeks. Then, we began work on a personal narrative writing assignment based on the themes of the short story, "The Rules of the Game." On Thursday/Friday, students turned in their personal narratives and we did a creative writing exercise to generate ideas for our upcoming short story writing assignment. This consisted of listening to three pieces of atmospheric music and looking at three images and writing any story ideas that came to mind based on the content of the songs and images. If you were not in class, you may complete this exercise at home with music and images of your choosing. I recommend using instrumental music and pictures that leave the viewer with many questions to answer. Your homework for next class is to come in with a story idea that you would like to write into a short story. You do not have to do any of the drafting of the story, but think about and make notes on your intended plot, settings, and characters.
