TU FUI EGO ERIS
9/29/15 - 9/30/159/30/2015 Today's class began with a quickwrite: Respond to each of the quotes below. Write at least 3 sentences per quote. Then, conclude by stating what you feel is better life advice: live dangerously or find a safe place. Why? “The secret of the greatest fruitfulness and the greatest enjoyment of existence is: to live dangerously!” -Friedrich Nietzsche, The Joyful Wisdom “The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.” -Maya Angelou, All God’s Children Need Traveling Shoes We then discussed student responses to the quickwrite. Next, we went over the questions for the short story, "The Most Dangerous Game." After that, we revisited a story from a few classes ago, "The Open Window." Several students told me they had trouble understanding what exactly had happened in the story, so we watched a film version and discussed it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU9NmM-1sAQ After discussing the film version of the story, I handed out the homework. It is attached below and due next class.
