Greetings parents and students,
My name is Christopher Trompas, and I am an Educational Partner and Classroom English Teacher for grades 6 - 10 at the Learning Choice Academy in Scripps Ranch. This is my third year at TLC, but it is my first year at our Scripps Ranch site. I am excited to be a part of the educational team in Scripps Ranch, and I am also excited to be a part of your family teaching team!
This year, in my onsite classes, we will be reading interesting fiction and nonfiction pieces and completing various writing assignments to increase our abilities in reading, writing, listening, speaking, critical analysis, and use of vocabulary. Please see your class syllabus (at the bottom of the appropriate class page) for a more complete description of the course.
To tell you a bit about my own educational history, I grew up in San Diego and San Clemente, and developed my two primary passions, for literature and music, while I was in high school. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in literature at the University of California, Santa Cruz. While the Northern Californian forests were beautiful indeed, I missed Southern California and moved back to earn my teaching credential at the University of San Diego. I completed my student teaching assignments at Mueller Charter School in Chula Vista and at High Tech High International in Point Loma. I am thrilled to now have a classroom of my own in an innovative learning environment.
I recognize the unique and significant role of parents in their student's education at TLC, and thus I would like to always keep an open line of communication with parents and students. This website will be regularly updated with assignments and resources, and you may also email me anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org. Let's have a great year together!
