TU FUI EGO ERIS
9/29/15 - 9/30/159/30/2015 In today's class, we continued working with the chord sheet I handed out last class.
Once you are comfortable with the E minor (Em) chord, try the Am, C, and G chords. When trying a new chord, strum the chord first; then, while holding the chord shape, pluck each string individually to make sure you are getting a clear tone from each string. Some troubleshooting tips: 1. Arch your fingers so that they are coming straight down onto the strings and frets (to avoid muting strings with the backs of your fingers) 2. Keep your fingers near the front of the fret you are pressing on (to avoid buzzing sounds). 3. Make sure the neck of your guitar is not resting too heavily on your palm (to avoid muting the high E string).

9/24/25 - 9/25/159/26/2015 Today is the day!!! We received our guitars from our Donors Choose fundraiser! We began class by checking out guitars to pairs of students in need of class guitars. Then, we got our guitars in tune using a phone app called "Guitar Tuna." If you have a smartphone and have not yet downloaded this app, please do so. Next, I handed out a sheet of care instructions and a liability agreement for those checking out guitars. it is attached below. Lastly, I handed out a chord chart, and we began working on the E minor (Em) chord. The chord chart is attached below as well. Please practice this chord over the weekend. If you want to try another chord, give the A minor (Am) a go.

At the end of class, I gave time to study for the upcoming test. Your only homework is to be ready for the guitar component test next class. 9/15/15 - 9/16/159/21/2015 In today's class, we took our first music vocabulary test.
